As a System and Network Administrator within the Haivision IS team, your hands-on involvement will span from setting up computers with care to meticulously installing and maintaining hardware and software systems across various locations. You will also help ensure system performance remains optimal, reliability stays high, and updates are seamlessly integrated. Your expertise will also contribute to shaping efficient IT processes, refining maintenance approaches, and creating comprehensive documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance and Monitoring: Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux systems, software applications, and patches. Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance. Implement and manage system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Assist with Network Infrastructure Maintenance: Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting network infrastructure.
  • Server Management: Server hardware maintenance, Administer servers in multi-platform environments, including virtualization environments.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure security and compliance best practices.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems promptly. Assist in creating and maintaining user documentation and training materials.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address IT-related projects and initiatives. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and security principles.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with backup/restore solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual, written and spoken in French and English.
  • Occasional Travel Required.
  • Able to comfortably lift servers, 50 lbs.
